16-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch
From Macallan Distillery

Bordered by the Moray Firth to the north and the Cairngorm Mountains to the south, the Speyside region is home to many world-class single malt Scotch whisky distilleries. The Macallan Distillery was first granted a license to produce whisky in 1824. The fresh spring water from the river Spey, combined with the region’s temperate climate, create optimal growing conditions for the high-quality barley, a key ingredient in Speyside’s famously refined single malt Scotch whiskies. Speyside single malts are noted for their elegance, complexity and smoothness.

NORTHERN HIGHLANDS North Atlantic Ocean

This 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky was distilled at the Macallan Distillery using locally grown Golden Promise Barley and water drawn from springs deep beneath the Macallan Estate. The Macallan Distillery makes their Malt individual by using some of the smallest copper stills to be found in the region. The stills are made from copper so they are resistant to wear, malleable and conduct heat superbly. Their unique size and shape give the spirit maximum contact with the copper, helping to concentrate the “new make” spirit with those rich, full-bodied flavors so characteristic of Scotch whisky produced at this world-famous distillery. This Kirkland Signature Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured for 16 years in American oak bourbon casks, then finished in sherry casks for 6 months. The Sherry imparts aromas and flavors of dried fruits, spice, toffee and orange.
